BELLS OPEN THE HEART OF EUROPE
Project name: Bells open the heart of Europe

ProjectNumber: 2018-2-CZ01-KA205-048351
ProjectDuration: 1.9.2018 - 31.8.2020
Total grant: 106.459 EUR
Projectbrief:
The project applicant is the municipality of Kateřinice, which has been cooperating with 4 other project partners for several years. The main horizontal theme of the project is to contribute to the development of European skills and qualifications of youth, youth workers, the development of basic and transversal skills using innovative methods and the strengthening of quality through cross-border cooperation.
Within the framework of the key activities, we focused on fulfilling the development of core competences in the project target groups through innovative and interactive methods, while their non-formal education will take place. The innovative character of the project lies in the very idea of the project, which originated from the idea of the staff of the parish congregation in Kateřinice (or rather, the staff of the parish congregation in Katerinice). The idea of the project was conceived by the civic association Zvonky Dobré Zprávy (Bells of Good News) together with the parishes and municipalities that have been cooperating for a long time (the municipality of Kateřinice, the municipality of Košariská and the parish choir in Ostrava) to transfer the know-how (transferring the methodology and teaching this unique musical method - playing the bells to as wide a target group as possible), to reach and involve as large a group of children and young people as possible, to train teachers and youth workers and to establish further cooperation at national and international level. An important factor is also the common spiritual essence of the organisations and associations involved and their backgrounds, which is an essential part of the implementation of the project itself. We bring innovation in knowledge - the implementation of the project should have the task to fill the free time of the youth and thus prevent, or direct, their possible social pathological impact. The cooperation between young people and youth workers from different countries is intended to make young people aware of the different EU Member States and their cultural differences, not in a negative light - on the contrary, how Europe and its people are diverse and yet the same. The project will develop the personal and organisational skills of the project promoters. The development of the language skills of the young people as well as of the youth workers will also be an integral and important part of the project.
Through the implementation of this project we would like to deepen the cooperation between the project partners and the cooperating organisations and associations with the aim of mutual exchange of practices and methods at national and international level to develop, expand and implement this innovative form of non-formal education for youth and teachers/youth workers at national and international level - municipalities (Kateřinice, Košariská) will be actively involved in the individual activities of the project and will support the development and integration of this non-formal learning in their region and beyond, so the cooperation of regional administrations and associations, educational organizations will be linked - the individual activities of the project (workshops and music camps) are set to improve skills, experience and competences.
